A recipe for coding success benefitting the UK’s food and beverage manufacturers

13th April, 2023

Coming together as one, for the first time at this year’s FoodEx Exhibition (NEC Birmingham 24th-26th April), Videojet Technologies and Clearmark Solutions Ltd are showcasing their full range of primary coding solutions for food and beverage manufacturers. The combination of these well-established organisations provides the broadest portfolio of end-to-end primary, secondary and tertiary coding and labelling equipment in the UK and Ireland, with the largest service team supporting customers packaging coding requirements from pack to pallet.

With over 45 years of experience and a global reach, Videojet is known for its continuous product innovation, vast install knowledge and customer application experts in the field of Product Identification. Combined with Clearmark Solutions, a Videojet distributor of ICE TTO and LPA products for 21 years, with a reputation for their technical specialism in the design and build of custom solutions and ‘customer first’ approach to each project, this partnership brings a host of benefits to food and beverage manufacturers.

On show at FoodEx will be a range of primary coding equipment including the ICE Zodiac Hawk Thermal Transfer Overprinter (TTO) with built-in iAssure™ print checking technology, Videojet 1880 Continuous Inkjet (CIJ) with MAXIMiZE™ diagnostics suite designed to reduce your main causes of unplanned downtime and 7440 Lightfoot Laser (Fiber Laser). Lightfoot™ redefines fiber laser technology as the world’s smallest laser marking head – both in size and weight, making it the easiest, most compact fiber laser to integrate, operate and service. Combined, this technology can mark an array of packaging materials with regulatory best before or use-by dates, production date, batch code and country of origin to ensure consistent accurate code placement and legibility at both high and low speeds to meet the requirements of the production line. These can mark a wide spectrum of packaging types including pouches, sachets, film, paperboard, glass, metals and many other substrates.

For end of line systems, the ICE Vulcan Label Print and Apply (LPA) and ICE Torus Large Character Marking (LCM) systems can fulfil shrink wrap and outer case labelling and the Vector Pallet Labeller completes a well-rounded portfolio of end-to-end coding and marking solutions.

Working seamlessly with all the coding and labelling products is CLARiSUITE software to design, manage, network and distribute data that needs to be printed. John Tate at Whitby Seafoods echoes the benefits of the software ‘The CLARiNET networking software helps to prevent against line stoppage by allowing us to easily check and control the correct job lots are loaded into the system.’

The combined Videojet and Clearmark team will be on hand to give live demonstrations of the primary coding solutions and guide visitors through the full range of coding and labelling equipment. Be sure to stop by Stand L159, FoodEx Manufacturing Solutions at NEC Birmingham 24th-26th April 2023.
