ICE ACHIEVES IMPORTANT SAFETY ACCREDITATION

18th October, 2016

Leading coding and marking supplier Clearmark Solutions (Interactive Coding Equipment - ICE) has achieved SafeContractor accreditation, underlining its ongoing commitment to the highest standards in health and safety.

SafeContractor is a major third-party accreditation scheme for UK contractors. To meet its criteria, businesses undergo a vetting process which examines health and safety procedures and their track record for safe practice. Those companies reaching the required standard are included on a special database, which is accessible to client-organisations who sign up to the scheme. This allows them to vet potential contractors before they are appointed.

Over 210 major nationwide businesses, from several key sectors, have signed up to use the scheme when selecting contractors for services such as building, cleaning, maintenance, refurbishment, and electrical and mechanical work.

Clearmark’s accreditation demonstrates the importance the company attaches to ensuring uniform standards across its operations.

“A business can only regard itself as truly successful if it is following and achieving the highest standards in all areas of health and safety,” comments Chris Simpson, Managing Director at Clearmark, “The safety of our employees, customers and suppliers is the key priority in all areas of our business.”
John Kinge, technical director of SafeContractor said, “Major organisations simply cannot afford to run the risk of employing contractors who are not able to prove that they have sound health and safety policies in place.
“More companies need to understand the importance of adopting good risk management in the way that [Clearmark] ICE has done.”

Established in 2001, Clearmark is the UK leader in high-quality custom-made coding and marking solutions for the food and beverage, pharmaceutical, printing and DIY industries. The Nottingham-based company enjoys a strong reputation for innovation and high-quality customer service across a range of technologies, including thermal transfer, thermal inkjet, large character marking and print & apply labelling.
