Clearmark Fundraising Week raises over £3000 for Rainbows Hospice
25th June, 2020
We ran, we cycled, we climbed virtual mountains, we baked and hosted a virtual gig just to name a few activities that took place over the week commencing 15/06/2020 all to raise money for Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People. Starting with a target of £1000 the Clearmark team were blown away to have surpassed this quite early on in the week and reached a total of £3018.
Clearmark and Rainbows have been working together for several years and have formed quite a bond in this time. Rainbows opened in 1994 to offer care and support to children and young people with life-limiting illnesses and their loved ones. We are very proud of everyone who took part and completed their fundraising challenges for this great cause and are so pleased with the result.
”We would like to thank everyone at Clearmark for raising such an incredible amount of money for Rainbows. It sounds like a lot of fun was had.
“At Rainbows, we rely on donations to be able to care for the most poorly children and young people, particularly during this difficult time. Without the support of companies like Clearmark, we wouldn’t be able to open our doors.”
- Kate Golding, Head of Organisational Giving from Rainbows,
During the week 514 miles were covered in total. 286 miles Cycling. 100 miles Running and 128 miles walking and hiking. Don’t worry, amidst all this calorie-burning, plenty of calories were consumed. There were cupcakes, cookies, fudge, blondies and cheese twists to name a few things available at the socially distanced bake sale for our office based key workers and the at-home bake sales for families and friends, the week was topped off with a Virtual gig performed by Clearmark’s workshop and warehouse manager.
Clearmark Managing Director Chris Simpson, who completed a 50-mile bike ride for the fundraising week says,
“We are proud to have been supporting Rainbows for several years now and are always pleased to help them in any way we can, be it direct donations, volunteering at events or completing fundraising activities.
Rainbows is a fantastic charity full of heart. We were especially proud to be fundraising to support them as much as possible during these difficult times."
